The last half hour this morning 5:30 til 6:00 .....

Between the tracks, Tim reads out Radio Times listings for 9pm tonight, for every channel on the planet......... great public service Tim. Oh and then he reads out the Radio 2 schedule for the next 24 hours .........he manages to talk nonsense all over the end of a great Who track ( Who are you) then at 8 minutes to 6 he says, "that's it from me"................thanks for popping in Tim....My mum could do better than that...

The only saving grace of this morning's show was Lisa the producer , who picked some fab music....

It's not like that Who track isn't on all the time though is it? (unless you're Roger Daltrey, in which case it isn't)

The burning question is though:

Is Tim Smith really worse than Pete Mitchell?

No. More like old nags that should be put out to pasture.

Good old Radio Times. Maybe he could read the letters page to us. Lady B said they are quite interesting.....

Rachel, you could have trimmed your post to the above and it would have summed up Tim Smith perfectly. Smile

I bet he promoted the BIG show with his Lord and master ably assisted by his trusty sidekick though.

I think he'd be in BIG trouble if he didn't. Today's conundrum: How come Tim or Janey never deputise for Wrighty when he's away?

I forgot he was deputising and switched the radio on as usual at 0545. Oh what a joy it was to hear the rundown of the day ahead on R2, plus the reminder at three minutes to six that if I was planning to leave the house at 6, I should get a move on. Radio 2 at it's best.... Rolling Eyes

I didn't notice but I expect he was home reading the Radio Times and memorising the R2 schedule for tomorrow... it's a big part of 3-6 am work.

I think you'll find that that sort of thing is par for the course from Timmy,Rachel.Mind you Mr Mitchell's not much better, his idea of good banter is reading out lists of old TV show titles sent in by listeners and saying " Oh Yeah,I remember that ". I'll be much happier when Alex is back next week.

Tim's topic for this morning was, wait for it.... pigeons. That, and spelling out jokes for the terminally dense. Maybe he just thinks everyone who listens to the radio at 0545 is still asleep....

Quality broadcasting.... not. No wonder he plays second fiddle to 'Loathe the Show'.

I just heard a dedication mentioning a 'grumpy Rachel'. It can't be, can it? Shocked No, I must have misinterpreted it Laughing

I heard that too Phil .......

I didn't recognise the dedicators name as being my other half... so it's a good bet that it wasn't me...Smile

Anyway: I'm not grumpy Evil or Very Mad ... I just have really high standards.......Smile although most folk say I have unrealistic expectations.....
