Only saw on the news this morning that Lily Allen came away emptyhanded.... despite the fact I can't stand her, I am surprised. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I didn't see much of it but I was very impressed with the Oasis boys. Being a little old for this kind of thing now at 54, I've always had problem with taking to Oasis, mainly because of their yobbish attitude but the live stuff they did was superb and of course moments of Beatle influence shone through. Perhaps I should buy a cd of theirs...
Take that??? no thanks. |

Nice acceptance grunt from Liam, talentless git, such a shame his brother Noel gets dragged down by him. I can make a better noise out the crack of my backside. |

I enjoyed the Oasis performance too, despite not being a fan. My highlight of the evening was Take That! Say what you will about these guys but, in my view, they can really sing and Barlow can write a good tune; Patience deserved the best British single award IMO. _________________ There are two types of people: those who have something to say, and those who have to say something. |

Exit,
If Oasis can get an outstanding achievement, then Keith Emerson deserves a knighthood! _________________ Geddon

Rusell Brand is getting complaints for his jokes. I dont have a problem with these. Does anybody else?
========================
Introducing the best international breakthrough award he said "I think a good international breakthrough would be if the British and American soldiers tell each other where they are standing."
"Alternatively they could use a system I learned at school, where one team takes off their tops and the others don't. This makes the team distinction clear. It allows you to see fat lads' boobs, which can really lift the mood in a drab football match - or indeed a war."
In another joke, he said: "Can you genuinely say that if someone gives you an envelope with a photo of the Queen's privates inside, you wouldn't have a look?"
He also said: "Who among us didn't smoke just a little bit of weed at school to take the edge off those crack comedowns?
"It's the best anti-drugs message. Don't take drugs or you'll end up leader of the Tories." _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

You can't really say or do anything these days without someone getting on their high horse about it.
I don't like the bloke particularly but that's his sense of humour, a bit crude for some and in bad taste but it takes all sorts to make a world. |

I don't suffer fools gladly!
Best Britsih song, compared to what, I ask myself?
Like Santa, I am a bit long in the tooth to take these manufacteured awards, for manufactured artists, seriously, bit like CE's Sony award, IMHO.

Outstanding achievement award for Oasis? But where was Mary Hopkin, Peter Skellern, Julian Lloyd Webber, Bill Lovelady and Mitch Dalton? Why was that Gallagher fellow collecting their award?

It's a pity Lily Allen came away with nothing at the Brits, because it has to be said, she is a a breath of fresh air, by not basing her singing career around her looks i.e., a half-undressed, lip-glossed, pouting tease, which many young girls seem to do these days - even tho her "street" image is obviously cultivated considering she actually enjoyed a highly privileged upbringing, attending Bedales, famous as one of the five most expensive schools in the UK.
I read a review which said she was the 'kind of singer to appeal to both young and old and although my mother may have been a bit of a wild child in the 60's, somehow I can't quite see her chucking a boil in the bag cod in cheese sauce into the micro, while joining in with:
When you first left me I was wanting more
But you were F***ing that girl next door, what ja do that for
(Smile)
Or
It's quarter to and we get to the front,
Girl on a guest list dressed like a c***
(Friday Night)

I would have to disagree - she wears a lot more than most of the tarty american singers you get eg The (slutty) Pussycat Dolls or Beyonce
She has a bohemian style, with her dresses with trainers
she is not like these others because she is showing that she doesn't want to be a sheep and follow the crowd, she likes being different (which is a good thing to show people - whatever their age)
Also, her music rings more true than a lot of the churned out garbage you get:
'Alright so this is a song about anyone, it could be anyone.
You're just doing your own thing and some one comes out the blue,
They're like,
"Alright"
What ya saying,
"Yeah can I take your digits?"
And you're like, "no not in a million years, you're nasty
please leave me alone."
Can't knock em out, can't walk away,
Try desperately to think of the politest way to say,
Just get out my face, just leave me alone,
And no you can't have my number,
"Why?"
Because I've lost my phone.' |
