Ah.. curious choice. He has his own show on 6Music, is a regular on The Now Show and used to co-host Radio 2's The Day The Music Died but is not to everyone's taste. He was fired from XFM for weeing in Dermot O'Leary's desk live on air and managed to get Virgin fined £75,000 for making a nine year old girl swear. |

He presented Breakfast on Radio 2 with Miranda Hart some time ago? |

Another show I would have avoided. |

Quote: | 6 Music host Jon Holmes will be presenting Saturday mornings on BBC Radio 2 this summer, covering Graham Norton.
The show, called the Jon Holmes Situation, starts on July 21st for two weeks, but then takes a break during the Olympic programmes returning on August 18th.
His current show on 6 Music is broadcast at the same time-slot so a handful of guest presenters will cover for him, including writer and broadcaster Andrew Collins.
On 2, he’ll have a different guest each week, with Penelope Keith, Nerys Hughes, Sue Pollard and Linda Robson lined up so far. We’re told regular features on the programme will include the Ken Bruce Master Quiz in which pop stars will have to answer questions about Ken Bruce, Toddler Pops in which Jon invites listeners to identify the tune as played by a two-year-old child on a toy glockenspiel and Band I Found On MySpace Or… where a listener battles against a studio guest in a game of names. And in His Busker’s Voice slot, Jon will showcase brand new music talent in a series of live sessions.
Jon told RadioToday.co.uk: “I love both radio and also, coincidentally, the number ’2′ so this is in many ways a perfect fit for me. Think of me as the summer supply teacher for Mr Norton’s class, which means, like any supply teacher, I won’t have a clue where you’re up to with your reading and literacy, so instead we’ll just mess about and play games. |
Radio Today.

I think Zoe Ball is doing Olympic coverage for the station, isn't she? |

Yes, I think he did a Radio 2 show with Miranda Hart fairly recently. I thought he was OK, certainly compared to the appalling Hart, though that's not hard.
He does seem fairly unpleasant though, judging by the above description.
Hopefully he'll wee on Miranda's desk next time. |

I forgot about him doing breakfast with Miranda - and all the complaints that received. I guess the Radio 2 bosses have forgotten too! |

The description of his Saturday R2 show sounds a 'must switch OFF' event for me. Radio 2 gets worse by the week at the moment.

You're not alone, Helen. Today, for instance, I got in the car in readiness to drive home from Norfolk. The car radio was tuned to R2 and the first thing I heard was that infernal Richard Madeley babbling on about something-or-other. His inanities really get my goat, so off went the radio and on went iTunes! |

Got to agree about Richard Madeley Colin.
I thought he may be okay as I enjoyed the one or two (?) Sunday shows he did last year, but the newpaper reviewers aren't good and I don't bother listening at all now.

Why Chris Evans? Is that a philosophical question? If so, I really don't know the answer. I've often wondered "why Chris Evans?".
Is he still on the radio? |

To the contrary. I heard (not "listened to", note) about 20 minutes of his appalling show the other day when getting my hair cut. His whole annoying broadcasting style is the embodiment of everything I hate about radio.... and I couldn't get out of there quick enough. The experience reminded me of what I'm not missing!
(And I'm changing hairdressers, too). |

Tubridy is certainly preferable to Evans IMO, Evans gives me the 'screaming ab-dabs'. We are given to understand that Evans is supposed to be on holiday, if so, why can't we be rid of him on Friday evening TV as well? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

What is he going to do for three hours talk about the Olympics like everyone else is doing? Is he coming live from the Olympic park? |

It's a pretty safe bet that he won't be talking, he'll be shouting / bellowing and generally being hyper and giving those unfortunate enough to be in close proximity a splitting headache. Unless the organisers issue those poor unfortunates with industrial grade ear defenders on health & safety grounds!! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I have to disagree - both are absolutely as bad as each other just in different ways - and the same goes for Richard Madeley _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Can you please clarify Colin - I don't follow what you're saying
You know my views on Evans and the current presenter and Madeley are just as bad _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Now that is a frightening thought - perhaps I'll keep it up my sleeve for April 1st next year _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
