On BBC Radio York, Leeds and Humberside, its on Saturday evenings 9pm to 1am. Diana plays some of the best recordings, obscurities and doesn't normally talk over the music! A recent discovery for us on local radio. Very Happy

Helen, it is available from Radio York and we are listening to it now. Some excellent music including the Small Faces as the featured group, Leonard Cohen, Manfred Mann, Roy Orbison, to name but a few.

Make the most of these secret gems on BBC local radio. There's a plan to slice away a lot of local content and create a "BBC England" (a sort of super regional station) that embraces most of the locals for much of the day. Local programming will amount to no more than network opt-outs.

A sort of "Heart" without the commercials or the airhead bimbos talking endlessly at breakfast time, no doubt!

I found it yesterday Angela and listened to a bit before I had to go out. I'll try to catch more later if I can. It was good so thanks for letting us know.

I also noticed while on the local radio page that Allinson's Albums is still on Radio Cumbria, Sundays I think with a repeat on Wednesday. I'd forgotten all about this show so will try and listen again to that sometime.

I had forgotten about Allinson's Albums too Helen. It used to be on Radio York and I listened in regularly then, I'll give it another go via the i-player. Thank you for the reminder.

I am glad that you liked the show Helen. It is another good one tonight, the featured group this week is Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch. I hope you will get chance to catch it later.

Hi Angela

I tried to listen to last Saturday's edition of the show only to find it (and a lot of other local radio shows) no longer available on Listen Again. I wonder was anything said during the live broadcast? I can't find anywhere to contact them so wonder if the b****y Olympics are to blame....... I last listened just before they started.

Thanks Graham, so it is!

That's really strange as I was checking out a show on Radio Lancashire from last Saturday that we heard part of in the car as we were up that way, and it wasn't available either. I checked the 'listen again' shows for York and Sheffield and Diana's show didn't come up.

It did say that some local radio stations would lose some iPlayer slots due to the Olympics and I just put it down to that. One those mysteries that we'll never get to the bottom of!

H

PS Are you getting some clicking sounds throughout the broadcast? A few months ago it was mentioned on Feedback in connection with R3 or 4. I hope it's not spread...........

Did you get the cryptic clue?

Yes I'm getting periodic clicking. I thought it was my washing machine interfering. However after 2 hours it stopped playing saying I had insufficient bandwith which is strange as I listen to shows through iplayer quite a lot.

I gave up before 2 hours as I had something else to do so not sure if I'd have got to the end.

Re the clicking, I listened to Allinson's Albums from Radio Cumbria via iPlayer this morning and I'm sure the clicking wasn't there then.

I don't get the clicking, but then do I have to set my computer to low bandwidth so perhaps that is why. The featured artist tonight is Roy Orbison and Diana has just played 'Penny Arcade', one of my all time favourites by the Big O. Very Happy

What else could it be tonight ..............The Beatles are the featured group on Diana Luke Loves the Sixties. Another good show and well worth a listen on the i-player while we still can!

I don't know Helen, I just assumed that it would when these awful BBC local radio changes take place! Confused

Helen, on this week's show someone texted in to say that they hoped it would still be on in January, Diana said fingers crossed......so it is by no means certain. Crying or Very sad

It will be a shame if it is taken off the air.

Helen, from what has just been said on tonight's show, it sounds like it will continue but starting an hour later from 5th January. Radio Leeds are opting out!

Thanks Angela. I've not had a chance to listen to last night's, in fact I think I'll record it as I won't have much time this week!

Will that affect your listening if Radio Leeds opt out? I seem to think I got it from Radio Sheffield the last time I listened.

No because we listen to it on Radio York, although the later start means that I wont hear much before I go to bed. I quite often have to work on Sundays and get up at 5.30am, so I think I will be listening more via the radioplayer!

The Everly Brothers were the featured artistes on last night's show. I am listening to it now and Diana is playing some tracks that I haven't heard before.

A fitting tribute and a sad loss to the world. Phil Everly R.I.P.
