That's great, really hope he gets in the medals, it will be tough, and particularly hard on the lad as it's almost the last competition in the Olympics.

Wow...what a competirion that was. After all he's been through, with his Dad, and a nation's expectations..the pressure must have been immense times a thousand. Never has a bronze medal been so richly deserved, and to Tom, it must feel like a gold.
And what about super Mo...this games has been the best I've ever seen...and I've seen them all since Tokyo 1964. A wonderful two weeks, which will live long in the memory of millions of proud Brits.
Withdrawal symptoms not set in yet...30 golds still on...

We're all very proud of him. What a competition - it went right down to the wire (or water, perhaps?).
My dad has just sent me a text (yes, a text - Ruddles won't approve) to say that the family is already partying in Plymouth!! |

By the way......
The BBC has used 1332 cameras on Olympics coverage, 650 miles of cabling, 32 event control rooms all feeding back to the Olympics Broadcasting Centre - all under the BBC's control.
The Beeb did a fabulous job - its largest event coverage ever!
I know two technicians - one a cameraman and the other a satellite links engineer - who are completely knackered! |

Well done Mo and Tom tonight, and all the other GB medal-winners over the last couple of weeks. What a fantastic Olympics it has been, with so many memorable moments and competitors - and not just of the GB variety.
The BBC did a brilliant job. |

Mo was outstanding, absolutely brilliant to see him take the double.
I don't think I've teared up so much before, last weekend it was Jessica, Greg & Mo, then Andy on Sunday.
Now this evening Mo again and then Tom, this has been a wonderful Olympics. |

Two members of our family who live in Brisbane were over in Blighty about 18 months ago and met our family and the Daley family at a big bash in Plymouth. They were lucky to meet with Tom just before they came and stayed with us in MK. They said to me "That lad is going to win a medal at the London Olympics"!
Just after Tom received his Bronze I got a text from Brissie (as they call it) saying "Told ya!!". Apparently, the whole family was gathered in a bar and were watching the final 6 events - and they'll be there for a while yet, knowing them. 
I'm very, very pleased for him as he has worked unbelievably hard through very difficult times.

The joy on Tom's face when he knew he had won the Bronze medal was a real pleasure to see...if you didn't already know you would have thought he had won the gold such was his joy. The margins in lots of the medal placings are so small they should all feel immensely proud of themselves and all the hard work they put in week after week....he said afterwards he knew his Dad would be proud of him.......and that he can't wait to eat what he likes!
Mo looked invincible as he strode majestically to his second Gold medal..as Brendan said " I love this stadium...come Saturday night,come a gold medal for Mo!
What an exhilarating fortnight this has been with so many memorable moments...will we see open topped buses wending their way through the streets of the British Isles, I wonder.
To all our competitors ...it has all been quite  al |

It's all been absolutely brilliant. Congratualtions to all the competitors especially of course the medal winners. The diving final last nights was enthralling - the way Tom Daley held his nerve was astounding and I agree with Eileen - his joy was wonderful to see.
And the "Games Makers" did just that, as far as I'm concerned. |

'Olympic Park will re-open to the public on July 27 next year, a year after opening ceremony. It'll be called 'Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park' ( May god bless her and all who??? )

'It's a shame the Olympic Flame is being extinguished later tonight. It should stay alight until the Paralympics have finished?' This will be shown on Channel 4 and More 4 between 29th August - 9th September. Shame they never continued on with the Paralympics.

As you know I'm not a fan of the Olympics but the TV was on and Tom's delight in the bronze was just wonderful to see.

I agree Colin, the Beeb's Olympic coverage has been superb. Even Private Eye magazine praised the corporation.
I shall certainly suffer from withdrawal symptoms having loved the past two weeks. I look forward to the closing ceremony which if it's half as good as the opening one should be wonderful.
Congrats to the organisers, the medallists, all participants, the crowds, evn the media. The camaraderie in London has apparently been fantastic. A friend of mine was on the tube and she says nationalities of all sorts were actually talking to and joking with each other. She even saw a couple of medallists in her carriage. |

On such a special occasion I think I can understand how such a text message would be appropriate and very well done to Tom -he was very unlucky not to win the Gold but it was a excellent effort and as he's only young I'm sure he'll be back in 2016 and probably beyond that - a big party is definitely justified

Thanks to all the Volunteers ( Games Makers ) Armed Forces and Police who've helped with the 2012 Olympic Games.
Hopefully the legacy will continue. Lord Coe will become the Legacy Ambassador. |

| It has been a wonderful Games - not just because GB did so well but because of the great atmosphere surrounding the events, some of which I had never bothered with before but enjoyed anyway. I have never felt so caught up in the Olympics - if only I were 50 years younger ... . |

Evening Standard theatre awards honour Danny Boyle's Olympics ceremony
The team behind the Olympic opening ceremony, led by director Danny Boyle, was honoured at the Evening Standard theatre awards on Sunday night, winning the second Beyond Theatre award, which "celebrates theatricality outside the confines of the auditorium".
Boyle was presented the award by cyclist Victoria Pendleton at the ceremony, which took place at the Savoy Hotel in London, for an event that the Evening Standard's editor, Sarah Sands, said "managed to find a way of showing us who we are" as a nation.

| Using of the training pool will be available to the public in 2013 at a cost of £4.30. Also the other parts of the park are being transformed too. |
