Does anyone else have this problem? Our main radio is part of a set which also gets satellite TV. Every so often, particularly when older tracks are being played, part of the tracking, usually the vocal line, is inaudible. This doesn't happen on other sets that we have in the house. Is there a remedy?

Gosh that's an odd one Ian. Are all other radios giving stereo reception?

Not sure I completely understand the set up but could it be the speakers? Had you not said it was okay on other sets I would have said it was a poor track from a remastered compilation album that sometimes gets aired.

I get it when I push my iPhone streaming output wirelessly to my audio system; I worked it out that the Yamaha 5.1 surround amp is decoding the L-R stereo as Front-Back, resulting in vocals being subdued in the mix until I select a different stereo filter. If I listen to the same source by plugging in my earbuds to the iPhone it's OK, so it can only be the amp's processing.

I would hazard a guess that a digital processing filter is to blame in your case.
