French magazine says- 'it will publish topless photos of Duchess of Cambridge. The palace are saddened by the privacy breach'.

___________
How can the Palace stop anyone publishing topless pictures? Prince Harry did that himself, - Duchess Of Cambridge is a breach of privacy. |

"Privacy breach" is all very well and indeed it is a breach but why the heck did she feel she had to go topless in the first place?
Surely she and the other "young royals" are completely aware of the hassle they can get into in this age so why do they set themselves up?
Some might say she has a right to go topless where ever she chooses but was it really necessary as she may become Queen someday? Once she chose that way of life she should accept it's limitations. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I hope they have now learned the painful lesson that a "completely private area" can never be guaranteed as such, especially in la not-so-belle France. |

You'd have thought she'd have learnt the lessons of Willy's late mother. Perhaps she shouldn't be so bl**dy stupid as to assume that there isn't a pap with a barrel lens on his camera lurking in the distance.
You have to wonder....
Anyway, what's the big deal? I've seen loads of women showing their boobs on beaches and beside swimming pools around the world and the paps aren't interested. If the general public didn't have such pathetic double-standards then it wouldn't make headlines! |

It’s not really on to publish the photos, it’s quite sleazy and grubby to lurk around trying to get this sort of photo, but equally, a Princess shouldn’t get her bazookas out anywhere except in her bedroom. My mum used to say, always keep your headlights on dip in a built up area. Good advice that. |

although it's sometimes necessary to flash them to advertise one's presence... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

In that case I'm surprised more women don't drive round in Volvos as I do _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

It is. Like Patrick Swayze in Keeping Mum. Where's Maggie Smith when you need her? (Wasting her time in prime-time ITV mush)

I don't know. Apart from the privacy issue, which is something a lot of girls her age aren't that fussed about when they're on holiday somewhere warm, from a male perspective all it has done (or would have, if I'd seen them) is left a little less to the imagination. I think a mountain has been made out of a molehill (or two molehills) and I wonder if it wouldn't have been better to have ignored the magazine's blatant publicity stunt. _________________ Ron |

The Irish Star is to publish pictures of the Topless Kate Middleton. Is there a brave British Editor who would do this, or would that sink the British press deeper into the gutter? |

A British newspaper would be pretty stupid to do so at the moment, especially in the light of the Levison Inquiry's imminent report into press standards.
The fact is that all these publications will print the pictures for one reason only: to increase sales. And how do they do that? Because mugs actually buy their publications! It has nothing whatever to do with privacy issues and everything to do with readers' insatiable appetite for voyeurism. People who complain about it yet buy the papers and magazines are the ones perpetuating the problem.
Rachel's comment above is spot on. If Kate didn't want her baps splattered all over Europe's press she shouldn't have got them out! Canon barrel lenses are very good these days. |

Kate and Wills were on a private holiday. They didn't expect a Pap rustling through the bushes, but what I heard the picture was taken from a long lens near a road. It was going to happen sooner or later anyway, but unfortunately it's happened at a difficult time as Colin said 'with Leveson still floating around'. They an't happy, cause only the future King should see the future Queens body and know one else. Technology has moved on. If they don't want to be pictured then cut all duties, and do everything behind close doors. |

Just staying indoors isn't necessarily any guarantee of avoiding the pitfalls of the ''pap' brigade
I personally know of cases where they have obtained photos by turning up at houses with hidden cameras claiming to be delivery men, meter readers and the like
The problem is that the way the news media operates has very little to do with news these days but is far more a question of money - especially when they can sometimes make six figure sums from a single exclusive photograph
These people are complete bastards but there again they're working within a corrupt business where it's very much a 'dog eat dog' mentality
Personally I wouldn't touch that kind of stuff no matter how much money was on offer but I am reminded of the well know quote from Voltaire 'Every Man has his Price' - obviously he said it in French though _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

After long deliberation I have decided that it is in the interest of the Board that I publish the photo of Kate's tit...

Now steady on Ron - why are you publishing pictures of fit young birds?
Is it down to some kind of mid life crisis? _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Now published in Italy and Ireland, lawsuits started and injunctions sought.
They ain't gonna win, even if they win. Close one door, another will open somewhere else.
I stick by my view that, if such a fuss hadn't been made in the first place, it would have been quickly forgotten, and we wouldn't have all these third parties jumping on the wagon in the expectation of making a quick buck.
Mid life crisis? Dunno, but I hope that, if I ever have one, it's over something better than out-of-focus photos in a grubby tabloid magazine. _________________ Ron |
