Most, I'm afraid... I think it all comes down to what you like doesn't it.
The Godfather appealed to me because as a kid, I used to love Gangster films of this era and of course "The Untouchables" TV series ( I have them all on DVD Rolling Eyes )
But other "big" films don't do much for me in general.. even SciFi films which are suppoosed to be blockbusters! but once seen are soon forgot about.
I'd say for me, the film has to be about something I like otherwise I get bored quickly..
As an aside, and partly due to the above, people I know are often surprised to hear I haven't seen seen some really big movies such as Sound of Music, Doctor Zhivago, Mary Poppins etc... Razz

I haven't seen any of those films either SantaFe - in fact I went on a "Sound of Music" tour in Salzburg and I was the only one in the group who hadn't seen the film. The classic film that I really didn't like was "American Beauty" despite the Oscars it got . I not only didn't like it I actually found it offensive.

Glad I'm not alone Essexlady! I'll have a think later about other classics I've missed and it's bugging me that I can't remember the titles of "normal" movies I've really enjoyed..
I haven't seen "American Beauty" either... Embarassed

Did you see The Godfather Part 11,littlepieces?

I loved The Untouchables on the TV and on the big screen,Santa.

Did going on the tour make you want to see the film, essexlady?

Some that come to mind for me are The English Patient .....didn't warm at all to the main characters ... Lost in Translation .....a waste of time as far as I was concerned and I had such high hopes for it .... Million Dollar Baby was also a huge disappointment for me as I like Clint Eastwood but thought this was sentimental tosh....and to my surprise it won Best Picture Oscar..... Rolling Eyes

No, Becky, it didn't - in fact being given so much information about how scenes were contrived and I have to say the behaviour of some of the people in the group (e.g. trying to re-create episodes in the film) put me off if anything.

"Narrow Margin" ( 1990 ) with Gene Hackman and Anne Archer ... not a big movie but I'd watch it everytime because it's centred around a train journey ( in the snow and ice ) and I love trains.. mind you, Anne Archer is interesting too.. Razz
