I believe Steve was so keen to make a good impression with the PM he sprayed on extra hair, and even had a wash.

I'm not joking!

If the third person is Rory Bremner, there must be two because I don't recognise this one in the pic!

Ah, no wonder I didn't recognise him then! Thanks Ian.

Yesterday morning I was in a Travelodge packing my case and I caught the last twenty minutes of Sunday Love Songs.. I couldn't believe my ears when this mediocre amateur started screeching ovee Nina Simone and "My baby just cares for me". That should carry the death penalty.

I now owe Travelodge for a new telly

Apparently his guest today is Ricky Gervais, who appears with monotonous regularity on The Big Show (who actually calls it this, other than Steve Wright?), and in rotation with various others who seem to have nothing much to say other than plug a new book, TV show, etc, etc. Can we not have guests who actually have something interesting to say?

Or even better - no guests at all

How about a whole show of 'oldies'?

It's the only bit worth listening to these days Sad

Why does he need to read Traffic Reports when Sally is employed to do this? She doesn't decide to come in and take over the show.

Perhaps she should. Couldn't be any worse

Ask the producer, Mark, not us.

I seem to recall that Sally has presented shows on Radio 2 before now and quite frankly I think she has the potential to outperform many of the present batch of presenters when it comes down both to personality and musical knowledge

I'd certainly listen - as for SW reading traffic reports - I haven't heard him do so often - unless a major problem arises in between the regular slots when Sally pops in to do the official traffic bulletins Smile

Yes, she has sat on the opposite side of that desk. Some years ago now, when Radio 2 was in the old studios, Sally did some DJing on Richard Allinson's then, midweek late night show in Richard's absence. She also presented the Saturday early morning show covering for Janey Lee Grace, who was the, then, regular presenter. Yes, the spot which is currently occupied by the same Richard Allinson!

Just in case anyone missed it SW has as guests tomorrow (Wednesday) Johnnie Walker and old pirate Keith Skues who many years ago had a stint on Radio One - both talking about their old pirate days

Should be rather more worth a listen than the usual boring people he inflicts on us Smile Smile
