I was interested though not shocked to hear today that John Terry has been found guilty of racial abuse by an FA disciplinary panel despite the fact that a British court has already acquitted him of the same offence
Now I'm no great fan of John Terry with his track record of cheating on his long suffering wife but in this instance I think he was completely right to stand up for his right of free speech - even on a football field
The FA appear to me to be a bunch of 'politically correct' thinking idiots who have very little interest in promoting British football but appear to see themselves as a body which can quite convieniently ignore the decisions of a court if that decision happens to conflict with their biased multi racial agenda
It's no great surprise that the England team performs so badly at major international tournaments with these idiots in charge _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

If I were Terry and about to be docked 200 grand of salary payments (quite apart from the match-ban) I'd be telling them to get stuffed, and that they'd be sued if they went ahead with it. What a kangaroo court the FA is! |

I don't think Terry is a racist but his careless use of inflammatory language on a football field had to be punished in some way.
He's been an untouchable thug all his life it was time that he was punished for something, otherwise he would continue as he has always done .
Nothing wrong with the FA's decision, why do people question it? One can be not guilty of a 'crime' but still be held to account for abusive behaviour. _________________ -

But why does it have to be punished John - I don't believe that anyone should face charges as a result of comments made in the heat of the moment in a highly competitive football match
As I said I'm no particular fan of John Terry but in this case it is quite clear that Anton Ferdinand was the first to make distasteful comments about Terry's sexual exploits so why did the FA not take action against BOTH players?
The answer is simple - it's fine for black players to say whatever they like without fear of any consequences because the FA is made up of a committee of do gooders who are more interested in enforcing their own politically correct agenda rather than achieving justice in such cases
There is also the seperate legal issue of double jeopardy - Ferdinand could have left the FA to deal with the matter but chose to insist that the police and CPS took action in a criminal court and that prosecution resulted in an acquittal so for the FA to go ahead with any hearing is dubious under any system of law to say the least
Of course the stupid thing about all this is that Ferdinand never actually heard Terry make any comment during the match and it was only when some very silly police officer watched the match on TV and reported that he had seen Terry mouthing certain comments that this story became big news
There is a saying 'Let Sleeping Dogs Lie' and that idiotic PC would have done well to have remembered that instead of stirring up a pile of trouble completely unnecessarily _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

But if vocally aggressive fans can be removed from a ground or arrested then it should apply to players too.
Our family are involved in football and football coaching of kids. We must deal with these things at a local level so Premier League on TV more so!

If you can find an example of similar behaviour on TV by a black player, which was ignored by the FA, then let's look at that. _________________ -

I've just given an example John
The FA Code prohibits the use of racialist comments homophobic comments and any other comments calculated to offend third parties and in this case Ferdinand made comments about Terry's sexual conduct in advance of Terry making any comments about him - so ask yourself why Ferdinand was not charged in this case
Answer - because it doesn't fit in with the FAs politically correct agenda
We all know that all players of every race make inappropriate comments in the course of a highly charged football match but very rarely if ever do we see and charges brought by the FA against any players other than those who are white
As I said before I don't believe that any player of any race should face any charges as a result of comments made in the heat of the moment on a football field - I'm guessing that inappropriate comments of one kind or another have been made in football matches ever since the sport was invented
Frankly with the amount of money these top Premier League players are being paid they all should be capable of brushing off such things as a downside of what for them is a very well paid job and simply get on with it _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Well I expect it depends on the circumstances and who knows what was said. The copper heard the Terry comments and that's that, and maybe heard nothing of what Ferdinand said beforehand, so no case there.

But at local club level if the referee's report contains sufficient detail then as well as yellow or red cards the matter can be taken further if there is a complaint from another player or spectator. If so then it must apply in professional play too.

Yes I do agree with that; our son-in-law is a (low paid) pro and he never let's anything bother him on the pitch. _________________ -
