Up and down the country there has been disruption to rail services because of floods to lines and stations. Southern have a reduced service between Horsham and Dorking, because of the landslide and could be out of operation for 3 weeks. Cross Country always seem to have disruption around Exeter and Dawlish when the stations flood. ( Should have built a tunnel through the villages - blame Governments over the years for that ). Great Western and East Coast also have revised timetables.

The problem is people are now sitting on Buses which is uncomfortable and take longer. They should get a reduced discount for that - It does keep coach and buses in operation just before Christmas. Wait after the floods we will see Ice on the lines and snow...

A few weeks ago, when I had to travel up to London on two consecutive Saturdays and buses replaced trains on both days, I did suggest to the ticket office person that passengers should get a discount because of the inconvenience and length of time added to the journey but although she was sympathetic I didn't get a discount Rolling Eyes

Trying to get through Essex has been a nightmare for quite a few weeks now.I travel from Lowestoft to London once a month and there has been engineering works for a month.I understand the need to do so but they actually raised the prices!Three trains and a bus is not my idea of fun

On South West Trains you can upgrade any standard ticket to 1st class for only £5 at the weekend: this I think this allows one to lie down on the back seats when during engineering works ( every weekend) part of the journey has to be taken by a rotten old coach.

Well, apart from the weather, London Midland have a constant lack of drivers!

They've been putting out daily bulletins for WEEKS and still no improvement, I suppose it takes months to train train drivers.
