Hollywood Voices | Interviews with stars of the Golden Age of American Cinema

Clips from the BBC archives with varying running lengths

I'm listening to Harold Lloyd (14 mins 20 secs)..I used to love watching him hanging from that clock early evenings on BBC 2 Shocked Very Happy

Synopsis

Harold Lloyd, the star of hundreds of silent-comedy classics, shares stories from Hollywood's original Golden Age. He describes the conditions under which each picture was made, reveals the dangers behind his terrifying stunts and discusses his contemporaries, including Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy. He also talks about how he handled the transition from silent pictures to 'talkies'.

What a terific set of material. Some of this appears to be the unedited recordings made for the Radio 2 series Hooray for Hollywood first broadcast in 1976.

Becky thank you this. Some good listening, and something I can pass on to other groups/Facebooks.

This looks great, Becky. I missed out on a good Bette Davis interview on BBC 2 a couple of Saturday afternoons ago, so will get some consolation from the interview on there. So much Hollywood royalty there, so you've done it again!

On a sobering note..I noticed there was an interview with Tony Curtis.....

.....with Nicky Campbell.

Very Happy
