Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner has said " That Mandatory Drug Testing at work should be compulsory " We know Airline Pilots get drug tested and some bus and train companies do it!! Does your work place do it? Do you think the Super US Commissioner should have bought this subject up?

Well - I don't really see how 'Mandatory' drug testing at work could be voluntary
Sounds like a very strange concept _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Ha ha ruddles. What is meant is that a system of mandatory testing should be adopted by all employers, i.e. compulsory for the employer to do it.
I'm sure such testing is not cheap so I don't see your average-small-business wanting to spend money on that.....
.... except where it is a very good idea.....
like,
a company who employs ten blokes to
- drive HGVs
- drive fork-lift trucks
- operate cranes
- do roof-tiling
- work on road repairs
where the drug-influenced operator/worker could cause harm to other employees or members of the public.
I expect employers may get prosecuted if there's a fatality caused by one of their drivers who was unfit to drive being under the influence, particularly in the construction industry where regulation requires employers to ensure vehicle operators are always fit to work. _________________ -
