Defence Secretary Philip Hammond ( MP ) has said " There should be no more defence cuts in the chancellor cost cutting budget" Cuts to Welfare budget should happen and use the money for defence.

People are already struggling with Benefit cuts, so more welfare cuts could put a strain on the economy.
Also remember it was the Tories who were in power at the time of the Falkland Island conflict. We don't want to cut more, or we won't be able to defend any current foreign policies where we need troops. Cutting defence, might as well pull all our troops out from countries of interest where we are at present to defend the UK. |

The money could be saved by abolishing the Department for International Development and scrapping the foreign aid budget replacing it with a much smaller fund to assist with world disasters as and when necessary
Also only a few days ago the Defence Department was heavily criticised by a Parliamentary Select Committee for buying unnecessary volumes of equipment most of which went into permanent storage costing billions of pounds to the hard pressed taxpayer
Threatening to bash the benefits budget further is just a cynical attempt to court popularity at a time when the Government is running scared of UKIP and quite rightly so _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
