Is this the first time this song has been played on Radio 2 in the last 30 years? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

So they follow that up with the laughing version of Elvis Are You Lonesome Tonight. Somebody's been at the laughing gas. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Sounds like someone's stuck on an old Ed Stewart tape circa 1978 to me?! _________________ Who Can Take A Sunrise, Sprinkle It With Dew... |

Ah George Benson - Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Interesting music selection tonight. I thought it was Frank Sinatra for a while.
Apparently its part of a new policy of having a more diverse playlist on Monday nights from now on.
PS loved the whale guy tonight. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Lieutenant Pigeon! We heard that in the car on way to the gym. My missus said when she was a kid the Pigeon's van crashed into her dad's car in Coventry and left the scene of the accident.
Police caught up with them though, there were so many witnesses who were able to describe a van that had Lieutenant Pigeon painted on the side |

Possibly, but I remember Keith Fordyce playing it on his BBC local radio show about ten years ago - I get the feeling he dragged the record off the shelf without listening to it first, judging by his comment 'Well, I got to number one, so I suppose someone must have liked it!' This was the same show that promised Lonnie Donegan but played Booker T and the MGs because someone had put the wrong record in the sleeve, and 'Fascinating Rhythm' by Bass-O-Matic getting played (I assume) because he thought it would be a version of the Gershwin song...which it very much isn't! Compulsive listening! _________________ "....you're wearing a plywood bow tie with Dundee United on it?" |

It's usually played at least once a year or so. The last time I heard was on a Saturday (by Maconie, I think) which I remember because I was driving with my girlfriend and I went off on a rant because I think the song is terrible. |
