Have just heard this news on MOTD...Alan,Gary and Alan are discussing it as I type..

Sunderland sacks Martin O'Neill

Sunderland has sacked Martin O'Neill following the club's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

The defeat, inflicted by a Titus Bramble own goal, has left the Black Cats just one point clear of the relegation zone as it extended their winless run in the Premier League to seven games.

O'Neill, who took over at the Stadium of Light in December 2011, has been dismissed with immediate effect.

Not really any great shock - looking at their remaining fixtures I reckon Sunderland are going down along with QPR and Reading Smile
