Mick and Mairead Philpott have been found guilty of manslaughter of their six children. Paul Mosley also guilty. They were all in it together. Mr Philpot was attempting to frame his ex-mistress and win custody of his other offspring when he set the fire, the court heard. Lisa Willis, 28, had left the house with her five children and the Philpotts wanted them back. But as a jury at Nottingham Crown Court was told "the plan went horribly wrong". Shocking as 6 incident children lost their lives.

Mick Philpott appeared on the Jeremy Kyle show. He lived on benefits & didn't want to work. His kids were his meal ticket. Shocking case. |

It is a truly shocking case but the problem is that we can't penalise the poor children assuming they had survived simply because of the lazyness and sponging attitude of their parents
Sadly the only options are to take children in this position into care which usually costs a great deal in time and resources or to provide sufficient resources by way of benefits for these disgusting parents to be able to afford to make some attempt to look after them and probably the latter is the least worst of two big evils
Of course sadly the whole issue in this case is academic but it does reinforce my opinion that in a perfect world certain people should simply not be allowed to breed or look after children - but of course the Human Rights Act would never allow that to happen _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Mike Philpott got life and might not be released until he's over 70 - The welfare system never killed the Philpott kids. His lazy and anti social attitude towards life caused those children to die. The others received 17 Years. |

I think it's despicable that some politicians are using the dreadful death of 6 children as a political weaponl. |

I think it despicable that a left leaning reporter (from the BBC) asked a pointed question to said politician, got a reasoned, reasonable reply and then had his production team edit the response allowing his friends in the 2 Ed's party to use it as a political hammer. _________________ Standing on Ray Moore's shoulders |

May I venture to ask if that is what they are actually doing?
I am no fan of George Osborne or David Cameron but were they not simply pointing up the sensible maxim that you shouldn't have more children than you yourself can afford to support? |
