David Beckham is finally retiring from Football at the end of the season. The former England captain made 115 appearances for his country and 394 for Manchester United, winning six Premier League titles and the Champions League. He's currently playing for Paris St-Germain. I hope he continues with football and possible working with the FA.

"The man who mixed sport and celebrity like no one else" said the reporter on the news of David Beckham ...exactly so!

Can it be really be 17 years since he scored that goal from the halfway line which brought him to the attention of so many households up and down the country? Shocked

Happy Retirement Becks!

He might be retiring from football but I very much doubt he'll be retiring from his numerous sponsorship and promotional advertising deals

He'll probably hardly even notice the fact he is no longer playing football - and I'm quite sure 'Posh' will find him plenty to do Smile

I'd be surprised if he did..he's only 38!

(I think he'll notice he's not playing football alright ....his dedication to football and his keeping himself fit to play it over the years has been a credit to him...I'm sure he'll miss it immensely)

Yes of course. Being a professional footballer is not just 90 minutes a week, there's three days/sessions training a week, medical and injury review sessions with doctors, and at-home training: footballers often have to wear 'monitors' for periods at home when they train, to prove they do home work-outs as well as the team work.

Beckham will now stop doing most of that.
