Anyone listen to this? I often catch a good part of it and quite enjoy Mark and his wittering on, in particular the 'My First, My Last, My Everything'.

Last night's was an instrumental only session, a bit unusual these days but interesting.

I like Mark,Helen, but I haven't listened to this for a while.....some programmes go by the by...not enough time!

An all instrumental one? ..I think I'll try to make time for a listen.

It started off well enough ..I liked the Michael Nyman piece...but I wasn't overkeen on the second half of the programme....pity the fella was in when Keith Emerson flew to his home to ask if he could do his own interpretation of some of his music. Wink

I thought I'd tack this on to this thread although it is about Mark Radcliffe's Folk Show. I listened last night following a mention by Simon Mayo that MR's show would be a tribute to Nick Drake on what would have beween his 65th birthday. I know there isn't much that is new that can be said about someone who died so long ago but it was an interesting programme and, as ever, the music was enchanting. Strangely this wasn't the show listed in my TV/Radio guide.

Just caught-up on the Nick Drake tribute.
Interesting, but, as always when he is the subject, tinged with great sadness.
Thanks for the tip-off. I would have missed it.

I listened as I usually do and thought that the Drake tribute was interesting informative and generally very well done

I particularly enjoyed hearing some of the cover versions of his songs performed by a wideranging roster of other artists - but I do agree with one of the comments made that it is just such a shame that Nick Drake never got the level of coverage for his music during his lifetime as he has after his tragic early death - it would seem that an untimely death is one of the best methods of getting certain people in radio and TV to take note of great talent and that in itself is really very sad Sad
