I've heard an advert for this Friday night. I think his name is Alex something, I missed it, Lord perhaps? Music from scary movies I think. Sounds interesting. 10pm. Correction 8pm.

It didn't dawn on me the first time I heard the trail but I hadn't twigged just then to the actual date on Friday. The next time I heard it I thought I'd got the day wrong............

Minor correction, the show starts at 8pm It starts in the corrie gap, which means we can listen to the first half hour, the 2nd corrie, then the rest of the show. I have a suspicion that it may be pre-recorded though which means you may as well schedule it in at a convienient time on the iplayer. Pre recorded shows are a lot like looking at someone elses holiday photos. You can never be in them and the people who took the photos say things like, it was much better than it looks, you had to be there to really appreciate the view.

The sound quality of this show was awful: was it recorded in an empty aircraft hanger? The levels were all wrong. Overall though it was a good show, some interesting music. A good iplayer choice for something like a Tuesday afternoon.

Funnily enough I was just thinking that myself. Or maybe a Thursday would be better?

That's the great thing about iPlayer you can make your own schedule.

If I was to listen, my choice would be Saturday afternoon thereby cancelling out that awful O'Leary excuse for a presenter... Razz

It's about time they made more use of Alex Lester, like they used to. Remember when he used to deputise for holidaying presenters? And also that other great presenter who's hidden away at night and who deserves to be heard by a wider audience. Janice Long. Let's hear more of them!

I like Janice Long, except that she's obsessed with the 80s as much as the rest of them.

Listening to this on iplayer earlier with my mum, she kept yelling, ghost busters! Everyone kept looking at her, then the tea trolley came around and we were told to switch it off as we were disturbing the other patients. She's a bit of a rebel, my mum.

People in hospital are liable to be feeling under the weather so it's only polite and kind to have some consideration for them.

The vistitors for the other patients were making much more noise, that's why mum put the music on, she was making exactly that point. It worked.

Hopefully the other visitors were also asked to keep the noise down. It's no joke being in hospital, feeling unwell and visiting time seeming endless.
