Road safety campaigners have called for a total ban on using not just your mobile phone, but the handsfree equipment linked to your phone including the ear piece.

You still having to press a button to phone or unlock it.

Yes, good idea... when did the ban on using one's indicators come in?

Or the ban on smoking whilst driving? - or eating a cheese butty?

Only laws which are enforceable should be adopted and whilst I fully agree as to the danger of hand held phones as Santa implies pressing a button is no more dangerous than switching on the heated rear window or the foglights Rolling Eyes

What did people do when there wasn't a mobile phone? Used a payphone or waited to get home if they had an home phone.

Ah those were the days Mark - when if you weren't available people would leave you a message and you would call them back as soon as possible at a convenient time

These days people expect you to be available 24 hours a day seven days a week - why does everything have to be so instant today - we live in a society where people have no patience Rolling Eyes

I always mute my phone when I'm driving unless I'm using the Sat Nav. People will just have to wait.
I feel the same about work emails, although I can access them at home I never do, work is work, home is home. whatever it is can wait until morning, maybe not the best of attitudes but I'll never change it.
