I am sure that's the danger. Station execs equate the success or failure of a programme with audience reaction to the presenter. They very rarely equate the failure with lack of interest with the programme content - which may have little or nothing to do with the presenter.

I wish she'd take a hammer to Cap'n Bob Sheehan.

Another classic one-liner from you, Raver. Me laughed, me did! Smile

Cheers Colin. It is the best medicine, after all, and I know how much you'd like to be holding the hammer.. Very Happy

Yep you're on form this afternoon Raver!

Don't think I'll bother listening to this series unless I'm interested in the interviewee. Shame.

It's not like it hasn't been that long since we last heard Natalie Cole talking about her life. I think she spends more time being interviewed rather than singing these days.

I am quite upset by the total and abject misuse and waste of Russel Davies' knowledge and talent in this most boring and predictable of formats.

It's Tim Rice next week, a bit more suited to Russell, I'd have thought.

But who wants more of these tedious interviews. Is the format going to be - one BBC radio presenter interviews another BBC radio presenter?

Imagine the money Shennan will be saving from his budget. He needs every penny he can get to pay Evans' fee, after all.

Shennan said on Feedback last Friday that Sunday night listening figures were going down. Well, they will go down even further with the loss of Russell's hugely enjoyable and informative programme.

I would like to know exactly how much is being saved in dropping his programme. Of course, even though it is OUR money which is being spent, we are not allowed to know.

What does Shennan have against pre-1960 popular music? It brings to mind the treatment meted out to Malcolm Laycock when he was told to cut out the dance band music which formed part of HIS Sunday night show ... and yet Clare Teal nowadays includes some on her show.

And don't get me started on Clare Teal's show.

I've nothing against her - and I do like big band music. But two hours is too much - and she seems to find an awful lot of screechy trumpet recordings to play.

Yep, I've tried listening to Clare Teal's show on a few occasions but the big band music they choose is usually too big and too loud.

I enjoyed Russell's show last night and it was a pleasure to listen to his conversation with Sir Tim Rice.

However I still want a return to his old format.

I quite enjoyed Russell's interview with Matt Lucas on Sunday. I'm no fan of his but he came across as a clever chap with plenty of interesting stuff to say about Judaism and coping with alopecia at a very young age.

Still want the old Russell back, though Sad .

Oh dear, this series is such a waste of Russell's musical knowledge Sad .
