I have had a look on Amazon black Friday deals but there never seems to be anything I want and things aren't massively cheaper anyway.
Went to the sales once in Peterborough with my friend Wendy from work and it was just loads of Asian women desperately rummaging through the clothes racks oblivious to anyone else. |

With home electronics it should be borne in mind that the main brands have their new product announcements at CES in Las Vegas in early January so many of the "super deals" are with lines that are in run-out anyway as the distribution chain makes space for new lines. As such, many of these deals will be funded by the brand owners themselves, who may also be paying promotion costs too. I know from my own contacts that Panasonic and JVC have to reduce their main warehouse stock levels dramatically ahead of new product announcements. |

They say that's a sign of getting old Mark - but my 17 year old son says exactly the same so I'm not so sure about that theory
I prefer my own one - namely that we are all so busy these days that nobody ever has enough time to relax _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I followed a car the other day - into a local retail park. I had to see who was driving as the number plate was " COLBY"
Nah, couldn't be I thought but I followed it for half a mile just to see never the less.
It was a woman driving.. and we're a way from M.K. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Definitely not me, Santa. I wouldn't waste my money on that stuff. Somebody local to me owns "LFC 1" though - an envy of Liverpool FC supporters, no doubt!
Not so unlikely that we'd be over your way though as we have a holiday caravan on the west Norfolk coast (OK, still a bit of a way, but hey!)

I'll make them an offer for that plate Colin - that is if they want to sell it - we Liverpool supporters are to be found all over the world including apparently even in MK _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Hey Ruds, I have to be careful how I word this because I don't want to be accused of being a superior smart-arse, but the trick with the quotes is to place a closing bracket on the last closing tag!

Well done Colin - I wouldn't dream of suggesting you were a smart arse - I''m getting a bit older these days and my memory is clearly deteriorating - hells teeth Its probably the first signs of Altsheimers Disease _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles?

I've always said I wouldn't waste money on a private plate but... just after buying my Mustang, I scanned the DVLA site and found GT 07 MUZ, which is what it is.
To my surprise the price - including transfer was £185!
So I have it my car.. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I was teaching digital video editing to a bunch of 20 year-olds the other day. One of them asked: "How long have you been editing video then?" to which I replied "Since 1973 as a student but not until 1976 professionally".
One of them went "Bloody hell........... that's YEARS ago. How do you still remember?"
Cheeky git. |

I remember thinking how good that little screen looked and how much better the image was being condensed.
I still have most of our cine set up and the films... should have had them transferred years ago!
I must plug my Eumig projector in one of these days to see if it still works... I can see myself in short trousers again and mum backing the Consul convertible in and out of the garage over and over! _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

If you ever get time, you must visit the Projected Picture Trust, whose museum and conservation workshop is based within Bletchley Park here in MK. PPT is run by enthusiastic volunteers, many of whom are old boys who have all worked in the cinema projection business. They have hundreds of working specimens - some of which date back to the earliest days of cinema.

I saw one last year that stated there were "Christmas Reefs" for sale. Sadly I was not quite quick enough to get a picture of that one. |
