Everyone's wish has (almost) been granted.
We're not trying any more.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wFUPCkmlOo
The lyric's good for a laugh....
Power to the people
Power to the people
I’m been tired of this thinking
So I drowned it all by drinking
Feels like a bitter pill
But I’ll just wash it down
With the taste of something sweet
That some doctor gave me
And this is my message
I’m not given in
We shine like diamonds
With fire in our bones
Stand beside you
After feeling that I’ll never walk alone
We’re children of the universe
Don’t you know
Dancing on the edge of time
Children of the universe
Yes children of the universe
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
You know what we want
And we got to get it now
Something’s stirring in the silence
and it wreaks of passive violence
Hold on tight cause opportunity will take
Couldn’t enter all the suffering before it gets too late
Hopes on the horizon
I’m not giving in
We’re the children of the universe
And don’t you know
It’s dancing on the edge of time
Eye to eye
Yes chidlren of the universe
We shine like diamonds
With love in our hearts
We say it’s the end
But I have a feeling it might just be the start
As I am
A fire in my bones
Standing beside you I have the feeling
That I’ll never walk alone
We’re children of the universe
Don’t you know
Yeah, dancing on the edge of time
We are the children of the unvierse
Power to the people
That carp would have been old hat even in 1970.
It's awful.
She's an "unsigned" singer-songwriter. With good reason. _________________ Ron |

Please tell me this is a joke. I know lyrics don't always make obvious sense but surely they have to have some sort of joined up interior logic? |

Don't forget - we're hard up - we don't want to risk having to splash out for the 2015 fiasco _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I heard this earlier on the KB show (he played it twice - either side of his interview with her) and I thought it was actually OK. It's certainly much better than the previous two abominations. I bet it earns more points as well! |

Missed both airings, I expect there will be plenty more opportunities though!

This is the first time I've heard it and I think it's really good! Best of luck to her. It's about time a 'youngster' represented us, as opposed to ageing has beens like Englebert and Bonnie Tyler.
The lyrics are pretty naff but I never listen to lyrics anyway.
Good luck to her. She'll pick up a few points. |

Yes, I think the lyrics are irrelevant. It's Eurovision after all! The production is very good - but she admitted this morning that the large multi-tracked chorus, made up of her voice, will create problems for the live performance because no vocal backing tracks are allowed and there's a limit of 6 singers on stage! |

Of course, the ESC is well known for it's lyrical content. The Dylanesque Diggi Loo Diggi La, springs to mind. And who could forget La La La? Cliff couldn't, for a start.
I'm happy enough to see an unknown get a shot at it. I think they reached rock bottom (no pun intended - but that was another terrible entry) with Bonnie Tyler last year. And now, Engelbert's duetting with Sir Cliff, on an old Temptations song. Maybe they're girding their herniated loins for another crack at it next year.
But enough of this Euro frivolity. I heard the new song on KB yesterday, and, as a few others did, thought there were traces of Kate Bush in there, which can't be a bad thing. I quite liked it. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Heard this for the first time yesterday and I could hear a little of Bonnie Tyler in her voice!
It sounds a little like one that one of the the other countries would enter so I think for reason alone we will get a few points...I hope so ..it's miserable year after year coming near the bottom. I think some of our previous songs have merited more
Good luck to ? (sorry I can't remember her name) |

Yet I remember when we regularly used to finish somewhere in the top 5, only rarely below that. Occasionally winning it (last time, of course in 1997, courtesy of Katrina & The Waves) And Norway seemed always to languish at or near the bottom. In those days voting was left to national "voting panels", but these days voting is left to people who vote by money-generating phone, text and online means which in turn leads to political voting...........
.............and vote-rigging. |

Wasn't it reckoned,by some, that going into Iraq put a lot of countries against us and that's when we started coming near the bottom and we've remained there ever since? |

Well considering Blair is best mates with Sir Cliff it's probably very appropriate that Cliff had such great success with 'Power To All Our Friends' _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
