Kate Bush has announced she'll be doing some concerts. The singer who had a number of hits including ' Running Up the hill' hasn't done any concerts for 35 years. Kate receiced a CBE to music in 2013.

Extra dates added, because the presale demand was so high. The ticket prices are extortionate. I'd love to have gone, but can't justify the money it would cost. To think she started out only a mile up the road from here.

The price of tickets for most music gigs is vast these days. I used to go to see a name band almost every week back in the 70s and early 80s but I'd be stretched to achieve that more than once a year these days!

I remember trying to get tickets for the Cream re-union gig at the Royal Albert Hall a few years ago and was gobsmacked to see tickets going for hundreds of pounds. All that to sit in cramped Victorian seats with your knees up round your ears!! The worst thing about that gig was that tickets were bought up in blocks by corporate hospitality agents who then sold them to people who probably had no idea who Cream were - just another freebie.

It'll be the same with Kate Bush, no doubt.

Apparently members of her fan club got first shot at the available tickets

I bet they never thought that coughing up their membership fees for 35 years would result in any benefit at all

They are the shining example of true optimists but good luck to them - I'm not a great Bush fan myself but they've waited so long they deserve it Smile

You could have joined last week, and still got presales, Rudders. I don't know if you have to pay to be a Kate fan. I do know you don't pay with Elbow, who are the only act where I've joined to get presale tix.

I didn't mind paying huge ticket prices for Macca or The Stones, Colin, but if I remember rightly, Kate's top priced tickets were £140. That's before you add on extortionate booking fees. So almost £160, and the first twenty rows or so, will be fillled by friends, journos and the like. And then you have all those people holding up camera phones..grrr..

Besides, there's bound to be a DVD out, where you'd probably have a better experience, The Cream film was a pretty good one.

I was at the second Hyde Park gig. They were brilliant. I managed to get a decent place, too, just as good as the £300 tickets. But I think that'll be the last outdoor gig for me. Don't think I could face having to push and jostle people for hours on end again.
