Has hearing a song in a film that you like/love ever influenced in how much you like the song do you think?
On Michael Ball's show tonight he played Come What May by Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, which I love, but I'm not sure if I would have loved it quite as much if hadn't have been in a film (Moulin Rouge) that I loved.
I got the DVD and the CD after seeing the film.... there are some great reworkings of popular songs in the film. |

Yes. Nat King Cole's "Mona Lisa" took on a new resonance for me after being used in the British film of the same name back in 1986. A beautiful song, and a lovely well-directed film (by Neil Jordan) that contained some great performances by Bob Hoskins, Cathy Tyson, Michael Caine, Robbie Coltrane and others too many to mention! |

Bob Hoskins at his finest - I think the version of Mona Lisa (the song) I remember most is the one by Conway Twitty ...Nat King Cole did a fine job too though with that gorgeous voice of his. |

No reason Eileen - I don't have any pathelogical hatred of films but perhaps my attention span is just not sufficient to allow me to sit though close on three hours of fantasy which is what most films are - I tend to prefer reality however bad that might be these days
I must confess however that I do love John Cleese's performance in 'Clockwise' - If I have a favourite film that's probably it

| The only films I don't like are bad films. I'm quite happy to sit through good films - and thankfully there are lots of them! |

One that stands out for me, was The Byrds' I Wasn't Born To Follow, when I went to the pictures, sometime in the last century..(1969) and saw Easy Rider. My 14 year old self was quite impressed. With the whole soundtrack, as well as the film, of course, but this one was my favourite.
