Tony Blackburn for one day only will be sitting in for Steve Wright on Bank Holiday Monday with a mix of music and chat. Join him 2-5pm.
Shame he can't sit in for Wrighty occasionally when he's off.

I bet Tony remembers the days when other people like Chris Denning used to sit in for him on Bank Holidays in the sixties

Well that's our bank holiday sorted: summerhouse, nibbles, something to drink and Tony B. Does life get any better?... well, maybe but that'll do me . |

The show was brilliant today. I reckon he could adapt the show if he covered for a week to a soul and motown non stop half hour with listeners choices? Still top of his game. |

I actually switched off and over to an internet station after about half an hour of not really listening. Just didn't feel like that kind of stuff this afternoon.
Just checked out the playlist before posting and some good stuff but just not what I'd have fancied listening to so I guess I made the right choice as I was in enjoying the sunshine in the garden.

I missed it, got carried away with brick laying in the garden (raised beds), hubby listened though, on his little plug in the ear thing, while he was sun bathing. I was thinking, that guy over there , my hubby , has got it made, he's near naked, horizontal on a sun bed, drinking a bottle of beer, watching his wife mix cement and lay bricks in the searing heat. I thought something about this scene feels all wrong, couldn't put my finger on it though. |

Well Rach if as you say he was near naked I can't really see why you couldn't put your finger on it - sorry couldn't resist that one _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I'm looking forward to the Good Friday one. A 3 hour special, where Our Tone "showcases original recordings of songs later covered and made more famous by other artists". I'll be listening in the hope that I might hear a few originals that I haven't heard before. The producer is Phil Swern, so there's every chance I might be lucky. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Sounds good,Raver...a lot of the original American singles from the fifties and sixties had a lot more 'oomph' than the covers by British artists... just one example ... the other night Bill Kenwright played Do You Love Me by The Contours which was much better (imo) than the version by Brian Poole and the Tremeloes |
