[quote]A survey of 2000 UK adults to find out the nation’s favourite car entertainment has voted Nick Grimshaw as the most annoying DJ.
The Radio 1 presenter got 21% of the votes, followed by Radio 2′s Chris Evans on 16% and Sara Cox on 12%. Chris Moyles came in joint 4th with Steve Wright, even though the former hasn’t been on-air for the last 18 months.[quote]

Granted, Grimmy is a bit of a pillock (or so I'm reliably informed by people of my offspring's generation) but he surely can't be as annoying as the Radio 2 Breakfast Pillock, can he? |

I don't find Sara Cox anywhere near as annoying as messrs Evans & Wright.
The others I've not mentioned as I haven't yet heard them. Having heard Sara Cox sitting in for Vanessa Feltz and on her regular Saturday night show, I would not call her, in any way annoying. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

The problem with surveys like this is that respondents are given a list of 5 and asked to choose the order, which means that Sara Cox is on there because she's one of the few DJs the 22-year-old work experience compiler has heard of.
Hence Vanessa Feltz or Anneka Rice not getting a look-in. |

Why then,I wonder, do they put a name on the list (Chris Moyles) for consideration when he hasn't worked as a DJ for 18 months? |

Probably for the reason Ian suggests - that the compiler hasn't actually caught up with the fact or hasn't heard of him! |

Making it all a bit redundant then! |

Yes, exactly. Just another so-called "survey" that's designed to gain free PR for whoever sponsored it. The information would have been distributed to media outlets by a PR company. I'm on lots of PR mailing lists and I get this kind of rubbish all the time. |

Maybe they should rename it " You name the most annoying DJ" I suppose there are lots out there apart from targeting the BBC DJ's. |

Yes, the list would be massive, but Evans would still win hands down. |

Don't think Evans is annoying, he's more loud as he does bring in.the listeners. Patrick.Kielty is annoying ( if you class his a Dj) |

No not annoying, enthusiastic, interesting, cheerful, and invigorating.
If you want annoying just tune in at 9.30 am, then you'll find the most lazy, lacklustre and going through the motions D.J who has ever graced Radio 2. One whose show encapsulates the dumbing down of the music on radio 2 perfectly.
Now that is ANNOYING!!! |

I don't find Chris Evans the least bit annoying. Could that be because I never listen to him?
Neither do I listen to Ken Bruce unless he is hosting Friday Night is Music Night which he does extremely well, possibly because that is the sort of music he actually enjoys. Who knows? (rhetorical question). |

ARe there two presenters called Chris Evans? There must be, because the one I'm thinking is none of those things. |

I had it on this morning and they were all singing something along the line Heston Blumenthal, who was the guest today. It sounds bloody awful radio. |

That's because it IS bloody awful radio!
Eileen has the right idea. Just don't listen. I prefer Radio 4's Today programme. Much more fun at that time of the day. |

He doesn't annoy me either as I don't listen, apart from his far too numerous trails that crop up during someone else's programme..........

Slightly off topic but I read this earlier today and couldn't resist putting it somewhere on the forum and here seems appropriate.
From an article in Computer Active Magazine (Final Straw) on the death of Windows XP:-
The writer likens the above to "the BBC ditching David Dimblebly from Question Time and putting Chris Evans in his place, and then asking for an increase in your licence fee".
It made me smile but can you imagine it ???

You could say Colin, but a brilliant comparison I thought!
