Maybe it's me but I read a post about FNIMN from Cheltenham on, I think, Saturday. I didn't hear the programme but the next day I was going to make a reply only to find no sign of either the thread or post.

Did anyone else see it or did we take too long to respond?

Unless john decided to do a purge of posts that are unreplied to and older than a given date it can't really disappear of its own accord, Helen. There is a setting in this board's admin control panel where "orphan" posts can be automatically purged, but if that were to be the case then a great many threads would have also disappeared.

It's more likely that, in order to display a list of posts relevant to that topic, the front-end script that builds the pages hasn't pulled all the data from the database tables on the server properly. This forum package - phpBB2 - often does that. I used to get all sorts of problems..... until I ditched it altogether!!

Chances are that it will turn up again sometime soon. Smile

That's what I thought Colin. I suppose the poster decided to remove the whole lot - there was only one post (unless my memory has gone!) and it was about last Friday's FNIMN from the Cheltenham Jazz Festival so only a day or so old.

It was something about being too picky, but I can't remember all of the details which was why I went back to read it again. Not that I heard the programme.

Maybe as I said we didn't reply fast enough for their liking!

Yes, an individual poster can only remove his/her own posts in a thread using the "Edit" button. Only an admin (John) can remove any or all posts in a thread.

It does littlepieces, not much to write about Radio 2 it would seem!

Helen - the post you were talking about was by RockItRon - I remember because I thought it was unusual to see him posting on here these days

I think he was talking about some of the music not being of the time the show was purporting to be covering - perhaps you should send a PM to Ron and he might be able to shed more light on it Smile

Thanks for that Ruddles.

I couldn't remember who it was, as I was catching up with posts as I'd not read the board for a good few days. Ron doesn't post much these days.

Yes, it was Rockit Ron, saying that a show about 20s music in fact contained music from the 30s and 40s.
