Murray is playing Kohlschreiber, it's 2 sets all, 7 games all, bad light stopped play.

C'mon Andy! Get some treatment for the hurty thigh, sleep well and win two games straight off tomorrow.

Oh I missed it Eileen - I've just been going through my Sky menu and realised that it's been on ITV 4 for most of the night Embarassed

Lucky for me they abandoned the match = now I'll make a point of watching it when it resumes Very Happy

Why don't ITV move the tennis coverage onto ITV1 when Andy is playing - it always happens at Wimbledon on BBC. Could it be because no-one gives a **** ???

Two great matches today. Murray beat David Ferrer in fiercely fought 4 sets which showed how much Murray's clay court game has improved and Djokovic amazingly beat Nadal in straight sets.

I thought the Djokovic/Nadal match would have been closer,Eileen...it had all the makings of a classic but Novak obviously thought differently!
Andy played a good match to beat Ferrer but will need to up his game, another few notches, to have a chance against Djokovic, who has beaten him in their last 7 matches.

I'll have everything crossed for Andy. Razz

Some good tennis from the women yesterday... I'm not quite sure how Serena got through but she did!

Andy has just started his match... 2 games all...

With Serena I think it was a case of mind over matter. She had a virus apparently so I wonder how she will be tomorrow.

I have been glued to the TV all afternoon. Although Andy is a set behind he is such a fighter and dealt well with Novak's play (and, IMO, gamesmanship). The officials halted the match just in time for that torrential downpour! Good luck to him tomorrow.

Andy put up a great fight against Novak and some of the play was sensational on both sides. Novak hadn't lost a set throughout the Championships but Andy took TWO off him which is all to his credit. Wimbledon will be extra interesting!

I was thrilled for "Stan the Man" today and it turned into a terrific final.

Serena still came out on top, battling flu! She really is a fearsome opponent.

I really thought Andy was in with a chance when he won the 4th set but the wheels kind of came off in the 5th.The top and bottom of it was that Novak was just too good for him. Still,I would think he has taken some heart from his performance going forward to Wimbledon...

It was a stunning win for "Stan the Man" and good to see that it was his brilliant play rather than a dip in form by Novak that won the day.

I heard on the radio, this morning, that Wawrinka said he is going to donate his check shorts to the Roland Garros fashion museum ...whether they want them or not is another matter. Wink Very Happy

This morning I heard them referred to as "pyjama shorts". One of my sons used to have a set of patterned boxer shorts rather like them.

Did you happen to see the photo of Federer sent in by a viewer? It was a back view of him watching his team at a football match but he was also watching the men's final on an iPad or similar!

Yes I did. Very Happy Still very much interested even though he no longer has an interest in that particular tournament.

I'm following this year's French Open on Eurosport but what dreadful weather! Yesterday was a total washout and today it doesn't look much better.

They really do need a roof over the main court and also more extensive facilities but I gather there are objections from environmentalists. Apparently players and their teams were very cramped during yesterday's no-play.

Heard this on the radio just now,Eileen.

'French great Guy Forget calls for Roland Garros to get with the times'

Wimbledon, the Australian and US Opens all have stadiums with roofs, but Roland Garros will not see a roof built over its showpiece Philippe Chatrier Court until 2020 at the earliest.
'It is very frustrating but it is proof that the roof is a necessity and that we have to do it," Forget said.

Moving away from Roland Garros was also mentioned....this has been in the pipeline for some time of course.

The French Open at Disneyland???

Heavens, Becky, that second link about improvements needed was from 2010!
