I was really sad to hear of the death of Lynsey De Paul yesterday at such a young age

I have to admit to having a bit of a crush on her in the early 70s but quite apart from that she was one of the very few females in those days who wrote and performed all her own material and people tend to forget her very creditable performance in the 1977 Eurovision Song Contest when - along with Mike Moran - she finished as runner up - what would we give for a result like that these days - OK probably not a lot but back in those days there was much less 'political' voting

Sad news like this really makes one think that we should all make the most of life as at the time of her her death she was only five years older than me Sad

Sad news indeed Ruddles. I knew someone who was her double albeit a lot taller and she also sadly died of the same thing at far too young an age.

I was sorry to hear this news yesterday.

She was a talented woman.

What a shock it must have been for her family and friends...I feel for them. My mother died suddenly at 56, from a brain haemorrhage, so I can imagine what they are going through.

I knew of her romance with James Coburn because they were in the papers a lot and looking at an article about her yesterday I see she was also romantically linked, over the years, with Ringo Starr,George Best,Dodi Fayed,Roy Wood,Sean Connery,Bernie Taupin,Chas Chandler,Dudley Moore and our very own Bill Kenwright.

Wonder if Bill will mention her on his next programme...he talks enough about Barbara...his first love. Wink
