Really sad to hear this news

By all accounts he was a really nice man towards all who met him and one has to admire him for reinventing himself in the seventies following his Shane Fenton days

I know from long experience of doing music gigs that you can almost guarantee to get the audience happy and dancing by playing an Alvin Stardust track whatever the situation - Red Dress being my personal favourite of his

So farewell Bernard/Shane/Alvin -yet another victim of a disease amongst men which still does not receive the attention publicity and funding which it deserves compared to equivalent ones affecting females Sad

He even appeared in the road safety campaign. I gather he made a last appearance on stage last Saturday 18th Oct 14.

RIP.

Sad news indeed. R.I.P.

I remember watching him in the Grimleys where his sideburns grew bigger each week.

Sadly, Radio 4's The Last Word is going to be a very full programme tomorow. Sad

I was shocked to hear of Alvin's death this morning, more so,coming close on the heels of the death of Lynda Bellingham.

From all accounts two really nice people.

R.I.P.

( I never really understood why Bernard changed his showbiz name...it was difficult to think of him as Alvin after knowing him for years as Shane.) Smile
