Seems the BBC are to advertise themselves on three new Youtube channels, which in turn will carry adverts. We in the UK will not be able to access these.

I wonder how much it's cost the BBC to do this? I reckon they will see if it will be a good way in the future to see if the BBC will need to advertise?


It be online, on digital, freeview, satellite 88291fm and on you tube from now on Laughing

It'll probably be funded by BBC America, which is a separate entity and part of BBC Worldwide.

What on earth does that mean? The BBC does advertise its output all over the place - in magazines, newspapers, on billboards, on tube train stations, etc., - so how is this any different? By positioning on YouTube the corp is acknowledging that this is one way to attract the attention of a particular target group, and one is that is viewing TV less and engaging in social networking portals more. Seems like a very sensible idea to me.
