I was watching an old black and white Hitchcock film (Suspicion) last night starring the delicious Gary Grant.
At the beginning of the film he had to make up a shortfall up on his train ticket and he offered the ticket collector some change and a postage stamp, proclaiming it was legal tender. I did already know this but wondered if it is still the case and would say, a bus conductor accept a postage stamp as part of a fare if you didn't have enough change to pay? |
