Well I think it's a disgrace that he's being allowed to come back on Radio 2 after the fall out from the last time.

It's been 6 years since the crisis on Radio 2. I'm sure you can be out from prison depending what you have done sooner on good behaviour Laughing

I like Wossy, but it's odd to have him back on Radio 2, to be sure.

I don't dislike Wossy but his previous stretch on R2 became tedious due to the amount of waffle, and I can't imagine this stint will be any different. I'll stick to my usual afternoon listening (which ain't R2!).

I hardly visit this site anymore as about just 6 folk seem to be posting.

However I have to 100% agree with Helen's posting-a total disgrace.

I certainly do think that someone at a senior level at the BBC has made a very bad decision/a serious error of judgement.

Why can't Richard Allinson be considered.

I read sometime ago his ITV chat show is in dire straits not able too attract the guests. As the article says at the end - " The BBC have no plans for any future shows for him" Obviously let's see how this pan out.

Wossy's ego is nearly as big as Gingerknob's but, having said that, I quite like the guy, and I enjoyed his Saturday morning Radio 2 show about ten years ago with Andy Davis.

I will certainly listen to him.

There were times when I quite enjoyed his show as well but I think he went downhill and I wonder what he will be like now?

Or perhaps it's a test to see if he deserves to come off the naughty step in lieu of a new, longer term contract. Another nail in the R2 coffin. Surely the lid must be pretty tightly nailed down now!!

PK is terrible-another reason to tune out from Radio 2 and find something else to listen to.

I'm amazed that so many summon up the effort to tune in to R2 in the first place! There's so little that's of interest to me now that it's hardly worth the bother.

Perhaps they keep hoping for better. I listen to very little these days and soon to get even less when the night time changes happen......

He's been the flavour of the year as the new cover jock. He's in the right place as long as he's kept away from the weekday schedules.

Indeed, there may be very little left in the way of redeeming factors in the midweek 'daytime' slots; Ken Bruce & Simon Mayo are about all that's left for me there (save, perhaps, for stand-ins in the case of, say, the 'Breakfast show') but if you go off the beaten track, there may still be something to recommend R2. Of course, then it may be down to whether that style of music is to your taste or not. It isn't just irritating presenters. Some of those that present the 'specialist' shows are very good & knowledgeable presenters.

Ross should NEVER be allowed anywhere near any BBC radio or TV Channel again after his disgusting previous behaviour and the BBC should place a ban on covering anything connected with him or his partner in crime Russell Brand

Both are apologies for human beings who should both have been strangled at birth Evil or Very Mad

I couldn't agree less where Russell Brand is concerned. I rate him highly, even though I think he was stupid with the infamous Andrew Sachs / Jonathan Ross episode. Interestingly, he recently posted a video on YouTube in which he disected a TV interview with Rupert Murdoch in which he very cleverly and sensibly highlights Murdoch's lies and hypocrisy. His arguments were well considered and well presented. I'd rather accomodate Russell Brand on the media than that self-centred, vacuous cretin Evans any day!

For mr it's a choice between the devil or the deep blue sea Colin

Whilst I applaud anyone who criticizes Mr Murdoch I don't feel that for Mr Brand to do so is doing any favours for we real 'Murdoch haters' Smile

He did for me. His argument was well-reasoned and considered to the point where I agreed with every single point he was making. The devil is definitely Murdoch.

He didn't seem that he's been out of the saddle for 6 years. Sounded fine to me. I think he was in part control of the desk and didn't have his old mate Andy Davis running it.

That's probably because Andy Davis is no longer his 'mate' after Ross cost him his job with R2 after his disgusting previous antics which we all know about Rolling Eyes

Bit late with this ....but....it was one of my favourite programmes on the radio,Schiz, primarily for the music chosen by Andy.

He introduced me to Rufus Wainwright amongst others.

I heard a radio interview with Andrew Sachs about a year ago. The interviewer asked him what his wife thought of Jonathan Ross. He said very quietly: "She hates him", and that ended that part of the conversation.

Wossy has been fantastic these weeks sitting in for Steve Wright. A really, great, fun listen and nice to have him back. Really makes me miss his regular show (although I enjoy Norton too)

Glad you bumped this up Ian.

I know I said I wouldn't be listening but I've caught a few bits here and there and he hasn't been bad. Maybe he's been on his best behaviour, but I've enjoyed the interviews! The music hasn't been bad either.

I actually think the fallout from the Russell Brand stuff (along with the death of his agent/best friend) has changed him for the better. He's not as hungry, not as desperate to be liked, and has more of a rounded outlook on life. Reminds me a bit of when Johnny Walker got exposed by the papers and re-evaluated his life.

It's made R2 listenable in the afternoon, a pity it clashes with R&M on 6music but being able to switch to R2 at 4pm and listen is good Very Happy

I'm sure that the big names have been given more holiday rather than more money in the last few years - they all have considerably more time off than they used to.

Not long before Jeremy Clarkson gets his own DJ post then - far less offensive than the hideous "Wossy".

You might have trouble finding a producer willing to work with him Very Happy

Going against the grain here but I used to like Wossy and Andy on Saturday mornings. I can't abide Graham Norton with his affected draaaawwwwlll.
