Voters want Charles Kennedy back as Liberal Democrat leader, a poll for BBC Two's Newsnight suggests.

Mr Kennedy was forced out last year after admitting a drink problem.
49% of those questioned thought he would be a better leader than Sir Menzies Campbell - who polled 22% in the ICM survey of 1,005 people.

==============================
So voters would prefer a drunk to a bore. Interesting.

Surely it's only really a matter for Liberal Democrat party members to be concerned with?

Well yes. Assuming they dont expect the electorate to care who leads them. Which is probably the correct assumption. Wink

I don't think I've heard Sir Menzies Campbell in the news more than twice since he took over - obviously doing a good job, then.

His speech today was a bit limp. It wouldnt have you rushing anywhere, except maybe for the remote.

Hey Highlander, we may look stupid, us British, but we know stealth taxes and stealth Scottish politicians sneaking into the House of Commons! Wink
