Very Happy

I was reading an article in today's Independent and it was littered with the F-word. I really don't find that acceptable in a broadsheet newspaper.....well not in any paper really but less so in a broadsheet.

I hate the casual way it is used,by some,in today's society and not just in anger.

(The article, btw, was by Huey Lewis and was about pop stars and drugs so we're not talking Sunday school outings,I know, but I still found it objectionable) Evil or Very Mad

I don't like it. And I can't sit in the same room if my missus is watching Big Brother.

I do swear at work, though Razz

That seems unusual to me in a paper like The Independant. I regularly read the Daily Mirror and they usually blank out a swear word (or any other contentious words) with asterisks or put something like 'the F word'.

When I was young I was always told that swearing happened because the offending persons failed to have a sufficiently good command of the English language and thus were unable properly to express themselves using normal decent language

Mind you - we are talking journalists here so why is anyone really that surprised Rolling Eyes

Hey, Huey Lewis was always with News. That makes him an honorary journo, doesn't it?
