Has anyone tried this yet?

I think I have the latest app but don't seem to be able to download any programmes, well not the ones that I want. I followed the instruction from this link http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/playing_radio_progs/app_v2_about but I'm not getting any download button that they mention.

I'm sure I read something elsewher so will have a look around but any help appreciated.

I was thinking I could download to my Android Hudl2 and them transfer to my laptop if required...........

It's on my Mac computer, but I'm not sure there's a Windows equivalent. Perhaps streamwriter.org could do it?

I've got Total Recorder on my laptop Ian which I can record any sound either live or from iPlayer but it was the 'download' feature that appealed to me.

Maybe I'm understanding the iPlayer incorrectly but I assumed by download it's done in a minute or so as opposed to a realtime recording which I get on Total Recorder.

I'm wondering if they haven't rolled the iPlayer download out fully although it's supposed to be working for the proms which start tonight. Also not all R2 shows are available, I'm sure I read that Sounds of the 50s is one of them though. I think it was on Twitter that I read it, via a BBC Media page. I'll try to check it out again.

Just had a go from my computer, went to the Punt PI page (from last night), pressed the yellow "download MP3" button and less than 10 seconds later it's in my downloads folder.

Is that a podcast Ian? Sorry but I'm not familiar with it.

Podcasts seem to be done via a separate 'button' and aren't the new bit of the website. According to the link I posted above you click on the 'download' button that is on the page for programme that you want but there haven't been any and there isn't one on the Leo Green 50s page which was mentioned in the article I read earlier in the week.

Sorry I've not had time to investigate further. I'll wait until tomorrow and see if there is anything on the R3 proms page which was also mentioned.

I'm wondering if it's just not working properly a bit like when they launched the 30 day Listen Again?

Hmm, yes, turns out it is a podcast! Of all the shows to pick!

Er, no, I can't find a download on any other show.

It appears to be an app that is only available for mobile devices on Android & Ios. Downloaded it to my tablet & it seems to work. So no downloads to my laptop

Hi Graham

I have a Hudl2 which is Android and I already had the iplayer radio app for tablet as well as the iPlayer radio one on there as well but I couldn't see anything for downloading. Are you on an Android tablet?

I don't use the Hudl that much but strangely I'd thought just the other day that I should use it for 'listen again' when I'm in the kitchen as my internet radio no longer can get the catch up like it used to be able to do. My laptop stays in my study for most of the time and I use it more or less like I did my desktop. Old fashioned I know, but I guess if I'd more time I'd use the Hudl!

Will give it another go and report back!

I think it may be a new version of the app. Oh and it is not the one that says "mobile" on it just to confuse us further.

Is it an iPlayer radio app or just the iPlayer app do you think? Maybe I should uninstall both of the ones that I already have and start again?
