What a great start!!

"Australia were outplayed in all facets of the game"...and that's from Michael Clarke

A day and a bit to spare and England have the first test match in the bag.

Same again,please lads, at Lords.

Michael Holding said that he has no praise for any of the batsmen as the pitch is a feather bed at Lords and anyone who doesn't make runs on it should be looking for another profession....however I joined the warm applause that poor Alistair Cook received as he walked disconsolately off the field because, under the circumstances Crying or Very sad he deserved it.

No, you're not the only one who's loving this, Becky!

I look forward to England wrapping this up tomorrow. By the way, I love some of the chants from the Edgbaston crowd: to Mitchell Johnson: 'You're not bowling any more' and to Mitchell Starc: 'are you Johnson in disguise?'.

Shame about Anderson's injury though.

It's a real shame about Jimmy,Schiz, but hopefully he will heal for the last test at The Oval.

I enjoy hearing the good humoured chants from the crowd too. ("Stand up if you're 2-1 up!" Very Happy) Johnson seems to take the the chants, aimed at him, in good part. I shouldn't think he's at all bothered when they boo him as that is telling him they fear him.

Only a two day and two sessions test but one, although low scoring, that was thoroughly enjoyable.

Nice moment for the sub catching Starc to end the innings and match...reminded me of when a sub got Ponting out in the 2005 Ashes.

We'll just have time to round and we'll be off again! Yeah! Very Happy

I had to keep shaking my head in disbelief this morning...Australia all out before lunch on the first day of a test match...WOW!!

A remarkable morning

Congratulations to Stuart Broad. 8 for 15 Cool

How good this morning was will only become apparent when we see how England fare on the same wicket.

Going okay at the minute...27 for 0

I left the room for ten minutes to put the kettle on and so missed the whole Aussie innings!

I often think the same about (some) football teams. One week they play a blinder and the next play a very mediocre game....with the same players.
Confused

Have to admit I felt for Michael Clarke, yesterday, when he broke down talking to Michael Atherton, after the match...his own performances have really got to him it seems. He was very gracious in defeat though as was Alastair Cook in victory.
Cook himself had a rocky ride not so long ago but he seems to have weathered that particular storm.

Congratulations to England on a fabulous win!
