Feel like I've been away for ages (almost 3 weeks) so what have I missed on Radio 2?
Anything worth listening again to?

You missed a superb chart on POTP last Saturday Helen - 1967 with great tracks by Keith West, The Herd, Procul Harum and the classic 'Flowers In The Rain'
Worth a listen on catch up - hope you had a nice break
Oh and you might have missed the superb Mark Goodier on breakfast this morning - apparently Mr Shouty has lost his voice _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I did wonder why Mark Goodier had been on this morning, I may try tomorrow if Shouty is still off! Will check out POTP playlist.
Had a great time staying part of time with good friends who we haven't seen for 2 years.

Ruddles, I agree with POTP. Homburg is a wonderful song which is never played on radio except on the rare POTP outing. And the Herd song is good as well, and never played. At least Excerpt From A Teenage Opera is played fairly regularly. |

I enjoyed Bill Kenwright's programme last week,Helen
The Beatles at the BBC.
Episode 1 of 2
(No surprise there. )
Bill Kenwright presents a journey through the many Beatles songs and interviews recorded at the BBC during the 60s.
In addition to the archive Beatles interviews with presenters such as Brian Matthew and Alan Freeman, Brian and Alan (recorded in 1988) will be heard reminiscing about their time with The Beatles at the Beeb.

Bill's voice hasn't got the same 'rasp' it usually has so I wonder if he has had some surgery??
The second part was on last night but I haven't had time to listen to it yet,but I'm sure I'll enjoy it. |

I'll listen to that Becky or maybe try to download it. I must say I've been a bit confused with this series from Bill as all up to this one seem to have been repeats. Something tells me I've heard this one before although it's not listed as a repeat.

I think you're probably right about it being a repeat,Helen. I listened to the second part today and at the start the announcer said something about it being another chance to hear the Beatles at the BBC which doesn't say one way or the other but on the website it says "Another chance to hear Bill Kenwright present a journey through the many Beatles songs and interviews recorded at the BBC during the 60s."
I don't really mind as I loved hearing Paul and John at Paul's house talking about their songbook with Keith Fordyce. It also explains the change in Bill's voice. |

I'm wondering if I recorded it onto the computer Becky? I remember there being an awful lot of Beatles programmes on (I think) a Bank Holiday weekend but heaven knows how long ago it was as time flies! I'll try and locate it on my external hard drive with recordings.

Well that didn't take long!
It was 31 Aug 2009 and was a 2 hour special. For some reason my recording wasn't a high bit rate one so I think I'll re-do it to get a better quality one before they disappear from Listen Again.
