I have been wowed by the tremendous effort by Andy Murray in the last three days in spite of his back trouble. His two singles matches were great results but to see him and Jamie playing so well together in the doubles was such a treat.
I enjoyed both the matches which Dan Evans played and it was good to see and hear about how graciously James Ward accepted the decision to choose Evans rather than him to play. Lovely chap. |

I agree about James Ward, Eileen. He said he is going to enter all sorts of competitions to put him in line to be selected for the Davis Cup Final.
Good luck to him.
As for Andy he was immense for GB and that doubles match with his brother Jamie was a cracker! |

Well done to Kyle Edmund for winning the first two sets off the Number 1 Belgium player David Goffin ( a great effort) but equally well done to Goffin for fighting back and winning the opening match in the Davis Cup Final.
Andy Murray is currently playing and has won the first set,6-3. |

Very much enjoyed the doubles today. The Belgians did well as a scratch pairing but the Murray boys came through
I am torn about watching Andy's match tomorrow as my walking group's last walk this year clashes and I really want to do it. Perhaps I will take my iPad and find free Wi-Fi after the walk has finished. |

I love watching these two play together.

Sounds like a plan,Eileen, but if your weather forecast is similar to ours (gales, rain) staying at home watching the tennis might be a tempting thought. |

I have made my decision! How can I possibly go out walking and miss such an occasion?
Assuming that Andy beats Goffin, I wonder if James Ward will be given the chance to play the "dead" match? I do hope so, as he has been such a supportive and gentlemanly member of the team and has been training on clay courts in the run-up to this weekend. I think Kyle Edmund had the chance to show himself as a future great player so let's see Wardy now! |

A fantastic and very special day for British tennis!
Congratulations and well done to all concerned.
I think I can hear the tread of advisors on their way to whisper in the shell likes of the Queen about putting Andy on the list for a knighthood.
One gripe. Sue Barker annoyed me intensely when she talked all over the presentation ceremony when we could hear the announcer perfectly well A wonder she didn't carry on through the National Anthem. |

Great wasn't it Becky? That last shot of Andy's to clinch the match and the Cup was just sensational. Well done to the whole team |

David Cameron tweeted this today....
Congratulations to the GB Tennis Team for winning the David Cup for the first time since 1936 #DavisCupFinal
And then hastily (probably after someone pointed it out) changed the d to an s.
