I just heard on the radio that she has died of cancer aged 62. That was such sad news. What a supreme talent she was.

RIP Victoria, thanks for all the laughs.

Ditto sentiments above.
This awful year claims another.

So sad. I saw her in a cabaret at a dinner/dance probably almost 20 years ago and she was just fantastic.

RIP.

She was great, so funny and such a brilliant way with words. A really sad loss. Sad

The country has lost a huge talent in Victoria Wood.

Sad to think we won't see her grace our TV screens again.

I was crying, laughing watching the Two Soups sketch on the TV tribute that was shown the other night

I'd like to think her family know how much she was loved and how much she will be missed.

R.I.P Victoria.

A statue of the much missed, much loved Victoria Wood was unveiled today.

THE unveiling of the Victoria Wood statue was a moving and marvellous occasion for the comedian's friends, family and fans who packed Bury's Library Gardens on Friday afternoon.

The sun shone as the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band entertained the crowds beforehand with a selection of Victoria's songs.

"In our family we were brought up not to show emotions but I do think its absolutely marvellous," said Chris Foote Wood, Victoria's brother, the initiator of the project.

"It has been long and complicated. I thought it could be done in a year but it's taken three years, but better late than never.
