Sad news indeed. Are You Being Served was one of my childhood favourites. From a time when comedy shows didn't have to pander to the PC (pratt) lobby or be approved by the 'thought police' and so consequently was genuinely funny.
Now I'm trying to remember what the spin-off series was that featured the cast of Are You Being Served setting up a west country guest house. It would have been some time in the 1990s _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I never really took to his Mr Humphreys persona but he made an immense contribution to the world of pantomime and will surely be much missed in that medium.

It was a good show, the sort which isn't being made today unfortunately.
Inman played a good, funny part when you think back as did Mrs Slocom with her pussy and colour changing hair do's! ..
And of course, Wendy Richards was rather good looking back then too. |

Farewell John, Mrs. Slocum's pussy is waiting for you. Thanks for the many laughs you gave us _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

*dodgy claim to fame alert* I once met Captian Peacock (Frank Thornton) in the RSPB shop many years ago.
I liked Are you being served? it had a kind of innocence you don't get these days.
Sounds like poor old John had a bit of a rough time health wise in his last few years, very sad. |
