How sad to hear that he has died. He will never be forgotten for his wonderful performance as Manuel and I'm afraid I shall never forgive JRoss and that pretentious bloke with all the hair for that spoof phone call about his granddaughter.
I once heard an interview in which he was asked what his wife thought of Ross and the so-called joke and he replied very quietly "She hates him".

Completely agree Eileen - Ross should never have been allowed back on the BBC under any circumstances - or any other broadcasting network
Sad to witness the passing of a great actor and a much treasured British institution _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Very sad news. Fawlty Towers has to be one of the best comedies ever and I never tire of watching it. R.I.P. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

Yes,listening to some of the clips, played on the radio the other day, reminded me of that.
Manuel was a great comic creation and Andrew Sachs played him beautifully
R.I.P Mr Sachs.
