So after hearing about the, in my opinion, scandalous wages BBC presenters are delighted to pick up ( I can't bring myself to say earning ), I hear now that a "one shot" episode of Casualty is being screened..
Well firstly, Big Deal! but I then heard on Breakfast "News" that eight, yes eight versions were shot and they picked the best one..... what on earth did this cost?? Has the BBC lost sight of what they used to call a budget?
But, at eight o'clock - Saturday evening, what are we offered? another repeat of "Would I lie to you". Didn't this used to be called Prime Time TV? _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I thought that 'Prime' Time TV is now the province of Amazon _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I would be very surprised if it cost any more than a regular episode of Casualty. It usually takes 11 or 12 days to make an episode so 8 x 48mins probably took less.
The episode got the highest ratings for nearly 2 years so was clearly worth it. And the repeat of Would I Lie To You easily outrated the 'new' programmes BBC One had in that slot last week and thrashed ITV so I guess that was a smart move too. No point wasting your best programmes for a period (summer Saturdays) when people aren't watching TV. |
