It's been announced this lunchtime that Jeremy will be replacing Matthew Wright on Channel 5's daily current affairs show. The show currently broadcasts 9.15am - 11.15am Monday to Friday, and presenter Matthew Wright is leaving after falling out with the shows new bosses from ITN.
Jeremy will take over in September - but will still continue on Radio 2!
Vine said: "Matthew Wright has built a brilliant show that's a big part of the British TV landscape. I'm delighted to be carrying on all the conversations he has started, with all the guests he's made me feel I know over the years.
"Radio 2 has a beautiful editorial overlap with the serious but accessible agenda of this show. I am proud to be Channel 5's choice to front it." |

They should have given it to Steve Wright. That way, they wouldn't have to change the title of the show... _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

LOL Raver!
I guess he'll have more time away from the radio show.

The Channel 5 show currently gets about 250,000 viewers. Jeremy gets 5.5m listeners. The studios are at least half-an-hour away. I just don't see how this is going to work, or what Jeremy's getting out of it. |

It will end the 11.30 chat with Ken as well unless they do it by phone from the car that will no doubt ferry him between the 2 studios.
I also wonder if the JV show is about to have a shake up in a similar way to Drive and Jeremy is hedging his bets? Makes you think.

It's Ken's input that I'll miss rather than JV's........

He is indeed Becky!
Don't know if you heard him one day the other week, one of JV's topics was to be about an App that told you which wheelie bin you needed to put out and when.
Ken said I've already got the ideal thing, when JV interrupted him as he thought Ken was going to say 'his wife' did the job and JV was concerned for his wife. Ken's answer was that he had a good old fashioned calendar that did the job just fine. JV was almost speechless!

I just thought the response was so typical of Ken, of course a canny Scot! We do ours the same Becky.
