What one song is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor for a boogie just as soon as you hear it.
I'll nominate Love Machine by the Miracles. |

Something you don't hear played very often these days, Simple Minds I, Travel. Maybe they don't play it because they know somewhere a middle aged woman, who should know better would be flinging herself around like a demented teenager, scaring the neighbours. _________________ I'm trying to stop trying, guru. |

Boogie Wonderland always makes me want to get up and dance. It's one of those that you just can't sit down to listen to. _________________ I like cats and music |

there are so many - it would be better to ask what I wouldn't dance to! I'll dance to anything me!
but, hmm, I'd say '500 miles(or is it 1000 miles?)' The Proclaimers - I discovered the 'dance' to it hasn't travelled across the border (sadly) leaving me looking a bit of a twat (no one else was waving their arms at the time your meant to) _________________ I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering. |

I was dragged kicking and spitting onto the floor to do The Time Warp at my birthday rag. But give me any 60's number and I'm off and running, especially The Elgins, 'Heaven Must Have Sent You' _________________ Eternal nothingness is fine if you happen to be dressed for it. |

Nothing would drag me onto the dance floor! it's only happened twice that I can recall, once a drunken night "dancing"with my mate and another drunken night with a great looking girl I didn't know.... wonder what happened there..
But, standing on the sidelines, I noticed that "Tiger Feet" by Mud NEVER failed to get most people onto the floor. In fact I was quite envious... |

Nothing on this earth would ever get me onto a dancefloor, not even if somebody paid me. |

Anything Motown, say, I Can't Help Myself (Four Tops) or You Can't Hurry Love (Supremes).
Anything else and I have to be dragged, screaming. And I'd apply superglue rather than ever dance (again) to Nights In White Satin or Hi Ho Silver Lining _________________ Ron |

I'm no dancer but Diana Ross' Chain Reaction might just persuade me on to the floor.
Favourite--actually, only--slow dance for me is Whiter Shade of Pale.
And I can more or less do I Am the Music Man, as I did a crash course in it in preparation for my appearance in a local pantomime!

I hate the slow songs
you just have to sit those ones out... unless you've come with someone |

Hi Ian-All credit to you.
Had not thought about slow songs to dance to when I made the original posting-only songs which make you dance like a stupid thing.
Best |

I was also going to suggest 'Tiger feet'
or failing that 'Love on a mountain top.....1,2,3......Needle in a haystack or
Ghost in my house or something like that are pretty good floor fillers at parties.Oh and not forgetting of course 'The time warp' which is usually a hit whenever I've seen it played at a do. _________________ Put some records on while I pour |
