So Alistair Cook bowed out of Cricket yesterday. Is there any truth in the rumour that he is now going to send us some Letters From America?!

Smile In all these years, I've never realised the same names, with or without the extra 'e'!

Fairytale ending, though. He'll be sorely missed. Don't know about lettuce from America...Jennings bats with a stick of rhubarb. If we don't have better openers than him, then we're in a really sorry state.

...with a flourish!

A wonderful career bookended with centuries....it couldn't have been written any better. Cool Cool ....thoroughly deserved.

Aggers was the star on Twitter yesterday with a reply to a tweet from Piers Morgan...

Morgan wrote ...

Goodbye, Alastair Cook.
We've had our differences, but it would be churlish not to acknowledge your enormous contribution to English cricket.
You made the very best of your abilities, worked ferociously hard, scored a barrel-load of runs & ended on a high. Congratulations.

To which Aggers replied....

So funny knowing Cook couldnít give a flying f***

Laughing Laughing Loved it and thousands of others did too!

Very Happy Very Happy A lovely put down for the appalling Piers Morgan.

I feel a bit sorry for Captain Joe Root though. He also scored a century, which was barely noticed!

What a final day of a test match was that!!! Cool

Still marvelling over what I saw/listened to. Didn't dare it to watch at times so spent a lot of the time with the TMS lads. And then the score got closer and closer and then!!!

Ben Stokes was just phenomenal with Jack Leach giving him terrific support

Michael Vaughan on Twitter

When GeoffreyBoycott says itís the Greatest Test innings he has seen in 60 yrs watching the game you know itís the GREATEST

What a day, spoiled only by Spurs losing to Newcastle - sorry Helen. Smile

Great innings by Stokes (the Durham boy done good),pity the umpire missed the obvious lbw though.

Sorry Becky but the totally surprising win for Newcastle went down well here Very Happy Very Happy

I hardly missed a ball, in the four days. For me, TMS beats Sky hands down. Nobody to touch Aggers and co. Luckily for me, I had no family commitments - I was asked if I fancied going to the coast on Sunday, but politely (!?!) declined. Best decision I've ever made!

Though once Root got himself out and Stokesy got Buttler out, I did think that was it. Unbelievable Boy's Own stuff. I don't suppose that's very PC these days, but those of a certain vintage will understand.

Pleased for Steve Bruce, too. I don't think White Hart Lane is a very happy camp at the moment.
