A respected broadcaster.
My first thoughts when I heard the news? I liked his narration of Mary,Mungo and Midge.
R.I.P Richard.
From Twitter..
"In his final years, he moved to a retirement home where he continued to read newspapers and cut out the headlines. Then at Six O'Clock he would read them aloud to fellow residents over supper." What an absolute gem. |

He had such a nice clear voice for the news and he presented enjoyable music programmes on the radio and he was good fun too - Face the Music, "his" acrobatics on There is Nothing Like a Dame on M&W.

I'd forgotten about the news readers spot on M&W Eileen, the thought made me smile.
