Some highlights have been announced for Radio 2 over the festive period:

Christmas Day - live from comedian Matt Lucas's house, with celebrity guests and music. Followed by a 2-hour Take That special, in which the trio play their favourite music.

In addition, Gary Barlow interviews both Paul McCartney and Jeff Lynne for an hour each.

Craig Charles returns with his third Scary Fairy story, recording with the BBC Philharmonic and Curtis Stigers (rhymes with tigers)

On New Year's Day an exclusive hour-long interview with Brigitte Bardot will find her talking about her dreams of becoming a ballerina and how she became a screen icon.

Jeremy Vine: Agony Uncle. A new episode of the spoof phone-in show, starring Lewis McLeod and Jon Holmes. Broadcast Christmas Eve.

Barry’s Wireless Christmas - a nostalgia-based show from Dame Edna's alter ego mixing his memories with vintage musical numbers from the likes of Judy Garland, Vera Lynn, George Formby, Max Miller and Fred Astaire

I wouldn't mind listening to Carnie's Christmas Bloopers - a 2 hour special of rollicking bad decisions made by the various heads of Radio 2, over the last 20 years or so.

Ho Ho Ho!

Brilliant! Very Happy Very Happy

It might take more than two hours to cover all the bloopers though.

Thanks Ian.

Jeremy Vine: Agony Uncle ..very funny - I'll be listening.

I only mentioned Barry H the other day,to Eileen,so happy to see he'll be back on our airwaves over the Christmas period.

Brigitte Bardot ? Convicted five times for inciting racial hatred. Not for me,thanks.

Enjoyed this...

He had a dig at Radio 2's handling of Simon Mayo's programme.

A spoof Katie Hopkins phones Jeremy asking if he can put a word in for her to co- present on Johnnie Walker's seventies programme. Jeremy replies 'Let me see if I've got this right, you,a woman, gets drafted into an existing, thriving popular show for no real reason and in doing so the dynamic of the show changes completely, even though it was a much loved success story? No I don't think Radio 2 would go for anything like that..that's a terrible idea.

Just catching up with Bill Kenwright's Christmas show of his Golden Oldies.

A lot of great tracks that were in the charts in December of his Golden Years. Dickie Valentine's Christmas Alphabet got an airing, I think the only time I heard it during the Christmas period.

Catch it on iPlayer before Jan 23/24.
